Cheryl P. (Amos) Moutinho, 72, lifelong resident of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023 with her loving family by her side. Cher was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace “Shirley” (Edwards) Amos and was a 1969 graduate of Ludlow High School. She went on to further her education, graduating with Honors from Bryant College and worked as an administrative secretary for many years within the Ludlow school system, also serving as a union representative. Cher was the beloved wife of Carmin J. Moutinho, Jr. with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage this past August; a loving mother to Christi Staples and husband Cameron, of Marblehead, MA, and Carmin “Jay” Moutinho III and wife Janett, of Burlington, KY; a devoted grandmother “Ami” to her 2 cherished granddaughters Grace and Sarah Holmes; a dear sister to Thomas Amos and wife Maxine, of Palmer, Peter Amos, of Ludlow, Kathie Morrison, of Holyoke, and Debra Amos, of Belchertown; and also leaves 7 nieces and nephews, 14 grand nieces and nephews, and their families; as well as many loving extended family members and dear friends. Visitation for Cheryl will be held on Sunday, November 19th from 2:00-6:00pm at the Ludlow Funeral Home. Family and friends are then asked to attend a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Monday, November 20th at 10:00am directly in St. Cecilia Parish with burial to be held privately by her family. As a tribute to Cher’s father Charlie, who was a WWII Repertoire POW from the Bataan Death March, the family has asked that donations be made in her memory to The Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org)
