Obituary for Clotilda A. "Tillie" Joao
Clotilda A. “Tillie” Joao, 72, passed away peacefully at home under hospice care on August 24, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield, Ma. on July 22, 1948 to the late Jose and Rosalina Mario and was a graduate of Commerce High School. Tillie was a cashier at Stop & Shop from where she retired and was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Parish in Ludlow. In her spare time, she enjoyed, the beach, camping, traveling, cruising, playing the accordion, watching the Boston Red Sox, going to the casinos, and watching her big screen TV, but her greatest joy in life was being a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Tillie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Jack Joao; son Michael, his former wife Yoko, and his children Misha, Melanie, and Jack; son Brian, his wife Emily, and their children Emily, Elizabeth, Evan, and Ethan; brother Joseph Mario in Minneapolis, MN; sister Joyce Leal in Largo, Fl; as well as many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. A walk through visitation for Tillie will be held on Friday, August 28th from 8:45-10:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home adhering to social distancing and no contact guidelines. Funeral services will be held privately by her family.
