Obituary for Conceicao (Carneiro) Lucas
Conceicao “Connie” Lucas, 83, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2019, surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. She was born in Evora De Alcobaca to the late Antonio Carneiro Jr and Palmira Teresa. In 1966, she immigrated to the United States where she lived in Indian Orchard for several years before moving to Ludlow. Conceicao was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Retiring from Milton Bradley Company after 26 years of service assembling games and toys. She had a passion and talent to crochet, making numerous doilies, tablecloths, and bedspreads throughout the years. She enjoyed to garden and cook. Her greatest love was being with her grandchildren and family. Conceicao was a beloved wife of 60 years to Antonio Lucas. A loving mother to her daughter Teresa Silva, her spouse Anthony Silva and her loving grandchildren Brian and Karina Silva from Ludlow. She leaves her only surviving sister Celeste Alexandre of Nazare, Portugal, sister in law Maria "Micas” Carneiro also from Portugal. Her brother in law Jose Pereira and wife Angelina, and her sister in laws Iolanda Lucas, Ana Cacela, and Laurinda Goncalves of Ludlow. Along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins spread between two continents and abroad, as well as many dear friends and beloved caregivers.
Visiting hours for Conceicao will be on Friday, February 22nd from 4:00-6:00 pm. at Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Saturday February 23rd at Our Lady of Fatima Church, followed by her burial at Island Pond Cemetery.
