Obituary for Conceicao “Connie” (Maia) Ganhao
Conceicao “Connie” (Maia) Ganhao, 78, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on December 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Guarda, Portugal, she immigrated to the United States and worked for over 20 years at Milton Bradley from where she retired. Connie was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, and in her free time, she loved to crochet, and tend to her flowers; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Connie was the beloved wife of 59 years to Daniel T. Ganhao; a loving mother to Diane Souza and husband David, of Springfield, and Sandy Ganhao, of New Lebanon, NY; a dear sister to Mario Maia and wife Pam, of Springfield, Theresa Melling and husband Tom, of Ludlow, Lucy Maleshefski and husband Dennis, of North Carolina, and the late Billy and Manuel Maia; a devoted grandmother to Michael and Jennifer Souza, and Kate and Amanda Toomey; and also leaves 4 nephews, many loving extended family members, and dear friends. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, December 8th from 5:00-7:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Friday, December 9th at 11:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christina Burial at 12:00pm in Our Lady of Fatima Parish followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
