Obituary for Conceicao "Connie" Maria Duque
Conceicao “ Connie” Maria Duque, 66, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Vau, Obidos, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Agostinho and Aboboriz Duque, she immigrated to the United States in 1975 settling in Springfield and was a faithful communicant of Our lady of Fatima Church in Ludlow. Conceicao worked for many years at Holyoke Soldiers Home and in her spare time, she loved to crochet, tend to her vegetable and flower gardens, enjoyed dancing and attending the Festa at Our Lady of Fatima Church; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Conceicao leaves her loving children Victor M. Conde, Jr. and wife Rachel, of Springfield, Paulo Figueiredo, of Springfield, and Carlos Figueiredo and wife Angela, of North Carolina; her cherished grandchildren Adrian Conde, Andrew Figueiredo, and Aligia, Aiden, and Alex Figueiredo; her companion Helder Ganhao; her siblings Augusto, Maria and Alzira Duque, of Portugal, and Adelina Duque, of Springfield. Sadly, Conceicao was predeceased by her sister Fernanda Dodds in 2015; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends both here and in Portugal. Funeral services for Conceicao will be held privately by her family in Island Pond Cemetery with Ludlow Funeral one entrusted with her care. A public Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date to be announced.
