Obituary for Dale E. (Herrick) Monette
Dale E. (Herrick) Monette, 68, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Born in Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Peter Herrick and Mavis (Hughes) Welch, and has lived in the Springfield/Ludlow area for most of her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked for many years at U.S Envelope, Sears Credit Dept. and the Wall Street Journal before retiring. Dale was a avid bowler and had a talent for crochet, crafts, sewing, and enjoyed making her own flags. She also had horses and enjoyed riding, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Dale was the beloved wife of 49 years to Floyd H. Monette, Jr; a loving mother Stephen Monette and wife Judy, of Springfield, Michelle Richard and husband Mike, of Belchertown, and Phillip Monette and wife Jackie of Ludlow; a dear brother to Norman Herrick and wife Ann of Springfield; a cherished Grandma to Julia, Hailey, Joe-Ann, Hunter, and Abby; and also leaves many loving extended family members and friends. Funeral services for Dale will be held on Friday, August 26th at 9:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm and preceding the service on Friday from 8:00-8:45am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale’s memory to American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or ALS Association (www.alsa.org).
