Obituary for David J. McGale
David J.McGale, of Warren, passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2022. Born in Holyoke, son of the late Roland “Mac” and Doris (Rivest) McGale, he grew up in Chicopee and was a graduate of Chicopee Comprehensive High School. He then resided in Ludlow for many years before moving to Warren 21 years ago. David worked for many years at Interstate Uniforms (Unifirst) from where he retired and was a member of Teamsters Local 404. In his free time, he had a passion for woodworking and loved to fish, travel, and spend time with his family, friends, & especially his dogs. David was the beloved husband of 30 years to the late Dorothy (Tokarz) McGale who predeceased him in 2001; a loving father to David McGale, Jr. and wife Heidi, of Westfield, Dorothy “Dottie” Lemire and spouse Ron Dulude, of Chicopee, and Dawn Curry and husband Robert, of Hubert, NC; a dear brother to Joy Conner and husband Richard of Chicopee and the late Michael McGale; a cherished grandfather to Stephanie, Jennifer, Tiffany, and Deserea; loving uncle to his nieces Shani, Sara, Tracey and late nephew Mikie; and also leaves 6 great-grandchildren, his companion Katherine Blanchard, several extended family members and many dear friends. Funeral services for David will be held on Thursday, June 16th. Visiting hours are from 9:00-10:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home with a funeral home service beginning at 10:00am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s memory to The American Lung Association (lung.org)
