Obituary for Delma G. Lizak
Delma G. (Alberti) Lizak was called safely home to Heaven on Thursday, January 12, 2006. Born in Burlington, Vt., the daughter of Lavenzio Joseph Richard Alberti and Gertrude (Morrison) Alberti, she lived most of her life in Springfield where she was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church. She was employed for over 30 years at Buxton Co. before her retirment and belonged to its 25 year club. She also loved to sew and owned the Quilt Patch for over 12 years. Delma was the beloved wife of the late Mitchell Lizak, who predeceased her in 2003; a loving mother to Frances Benson and her husband Thomas, of Westfield, Jean Flynn and her husband Michael and Michele Cowdrey and her husband Ronald, all of Springfield; a dear sister to Elizabeth Lane of Maine and the late Richard and Thomas Alberti; a cherished grandmother to Antoinette Jackson, Debora Vaudrin, Thomas Benson Jr., Shawn Flynn, Heather and Thomas Skawski and Casey Cowdrey; great-grandmother of 15; great-great grandmother of 6 and also leaves several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are on Saturday morning. Friends and family are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:30am in St. Catherine of Siena Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation is on Friday evening from 6-8pm and donations may be made in Delma’s memory to Baystate Hospice PO Box 9058 Springfield, Ma. 01102.Â
