Obituary for Derek Paul Swistak
Derek Paul Swistak, 42, of South Hadley passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday December 14, 2021. Derek worked for the Coca Cola Company in Northampton for 19 years as a Continuous Improvement Manager and was a 1997 graduate of Ludlow High School. He was an officer at the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Orchards Golf Club, He played the guitar and loved doing executive workouts at the gym. He had a passion for grilling on his smoker and making memories with his Modern Family, whether it was Shooting hoops with his kids Coaching softball for his daughter or Doing yardwork with his stepsons. He enjoyed his annual camping trip to old Orchard Beach with his wife and kids and Derek loved nothing more than relaxing at home, and cooking for his friends and family. He took pride in being a great dad, husband, and son. He leaves His wife, Jessica Funk Swistak, Daughter Autumn Moon Swistak, Stepsons Griffin Edward Funk and Brodie Lundon Funk, Mother Diane Mastorakis-Leal and her husband Tony, Father Adrian Swistak and his wife Lucy, His grandmother Alfreda Harman; His daughter’s mother, Kimberly Mercier and her family His sisters, Angela Cote Vanancio and Kimberly Pellegrini and their families His many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, His sisters-in-law and brother-in-law as well as many friends and coworkers. Funeral services for Derek will be held on Monday, December 20th from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are Monday morning from 9:00-11:00am, with a Chapel service at the funeral home beginning at 11:00am, his burial will be held privately by his family, and it is strongly encouraged by his family to please wear masks while attending his wake and services.
