Obituary for Diolinda "Linda" (Fidalgo) Breault
Diolinda “Linda” (Fidalgo) Breault of Ludlow died peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2011 at the age of 91. Born on December 29, 1919 in Ludlow, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Rosalina (Zina) Fidalgo. Diolinda was a lifelong resident of Ludlow and was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Parish and a member of St. Ann’s Sodality. She was also a member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club and Ludlow Senior Citizen’s. An excellent seamstress, she worked for many years at Chicopee Undergarment, Modern Bridal in Indian Orchard and Ludlow Bridal. Diolinda was an avid baker, knitting and crochet enthusiast and enjoyed working with crafts of all kinds. Diolinda was the beloved wife of August “Gus” Alves, who predeceased her in 1943. She found love again and was remarried to Norman J. Breault of Chicopee, who also predeceased her in 1963. She was the loving mother of Richard Breault and his wife Joyce of Ludlow, and Norman Breault and his “BFF” Dori Partsch of Chesterton, Indiana. She was a dear sister to Celia Desilets, Arthur Fidalgo and his wife Philomena, and to the late Joseph and Limpio Fidalgo, Mary Sa Noguiera, and Wilhemina Sorcinelli. She was the cherished grandmother of Nick of Monson, John Houle of Longmeadow, Michael and his wife Jacqueline of Ludlow, Eric Reid and his wife Chris of Bradford, New Hampshire, and Kerry of Ludlow; and great-grandmother of Gina, Anthony, Jocelyn, Ryley, Paul, and Minna. She is also survived by many loving family members and friends. Diolinda’s funeral will be held at 8am on Friday, December 23, 2011 from the Ludlow Funeral Home, 423 East Street, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9am in St. Elizabeth’s Parish, 181 Hubbard Street, Ludlow, with burial to follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery, 1273 Berkshire Avenue, Springfield. Visitation hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm.
