Obituary for Domingos G. Barroso
Domingos G. Barroso, 73, of Ludlow, passed away on December 11, 2018 surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Antigo de Viade, Portugal, son of the late Luis and Senhorinha Barroso, he was a proud member of the Portuguese Army and came to the United States in 1971. In 1973, he settled in Ludlow where he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Domingos worked for 20 years at Walker Millwork and later in the maintenance department for East Longmeadow High School. In his spare time, he loved tending to his garden and fruit trees, especially his apple trees, making wine, and playing the harmonica; but his greatest joy in life was spoiling his grandchildren. Domingos was the beloved husband of 48 years to Julia Barroso; a devoted father to Domingos Barroso and wife Maria Emilia, of Ludlow, George Barroso and wife Miya, of North Grafton, and Jason Barroso and wife Kayla, of Hampden, an adoring grandfather to David, Kevin, Lucas, Sophia, Gabriella, and Andrew Barroso, a dear brother to Luis Barroso and wife Maria Fatima, Jorge Barroso, and wife Maria Fatima, all of Ludlow, and the late Antonio Barroso; and also leaves several loving nieces, nephews, extended family members,and dear friends. Visiting hours for Domingos will be held on Thursday, December 13th from 4:00-7:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Friday at 9:00am from the funeral home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
