Obituary for Domingos Goncalves
Domingos Goncalves, 83, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully January 7th, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow to the late Bento and Ana (Rodrigues) Goncalves, he was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a proud member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club. Domingos was a long standing member of the Gremio Lusitano Club, and was part of their Championship Bocce teams. He worked for many years at Danaher Tool Company and most recently Westover Golf Course. Domingos leaves his beloved wife of 42 years Mercedes (Marques) Goncalves of Ludlow; loving children Fernando Goncalves and his partner Kevin, of Boston, Domingos Goncalves and his wife Elizabeth, of Ludlow, and Laurie Ann Clark and her husband Joe of Vernon, CT; cherished grandchildren Victoria and Justin Goncalves; caring brothers Joe and Antonio, both of Ludlow, and a sister Mary Machado, of Portugal; as well as several loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was predeceased by his siblings Fernando, Delfin, Bento and Laurinda. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 11th, 2008 at 8:00AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday evening from 4-8PM.
