Obituary for Donald B. Bator
Donald B. Bator, 62, died on September 21 in Katmai National Park in Alaska. He was the son of the late Benny and Molly Bator of Indian Orchard, Ma, and the loving husband of the late Barbara Bator for 25 years. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School and Western New England College. A former Hamilton Standard employee, he went on to work as a Senior Systems Analyst with Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company of Springfield for over three decades until his retirement in 1999. He will be remembered as a passionate outdoorsman and fisherman, as well as a generous friend; but most of all, as a loving father and grandfather. He was active in the Ludlow Country Club, a member and volunteer at the P.A.C.C. of Ludlow and a devout communicant of Christ the King Church. Donald leaves behind many loving friends and relatives whose lives now contain an unexpected void, including three daughters Melissa Scott of Brimfield, Ma., Deanna Cohen of Liverpool, NY, and Tanya Crisostomo of Belchertown, Ma. and one son Brian Bator of Lynn, Ma. He is also survived by four cherished grandchildren; Noah and Sarah Scott and Aadon and Sierra Crisostomo. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Friday evening from 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald’s memory to the Open Pantry 287 State St. Springfield, Ma 01105 or the Salvation Army 170 Pearl St. Springfield, Ma. 01105.                                                                                      Â
