Obituary for Donald Yelle Sr.
Donald P. Yelle Sr., 79, of Ludlow passed away peacefully in the care and comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow to the late Henry and Rita (Lambert) Yelle, he has lived in Ludlow for over 52 years and is a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth Parish and a former communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Donald worked for over 42 years at Monsanto/Solutia in Indian Orchard before retiring and belonged to the Monsanto Santonian Riverbend Club, he was also a proud 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Donald leaves his beloved wife of 60 years Gail (Rice) Yelle of Ludlow; loving children Bonny Monkiewicz and her husband Steve of Montgomery and Donald Yelle Jr. of West Warren; Cherished grandfather to Chelsie Gemme and husband Seth of Rhode Island, Colin Monkiewicz of Montgomery, Heather and Melissa Yelle of West Warren and a caring brother to Reverend Ronald R. Yelle of Belchertown. Funeral services for Donald will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 8:30-10:15am with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Elizabeth Parish at 11:00am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers it was the wish of Donald’s family that donations be made in his memory to: Mercy Hospice, 2112 Riverdale St. Suite 3, West Springfield, MA.
