Obituary for Dorilla (Marquis) Reeves
Dorilla “Dore” (Marquis) Asselin-Reeves, 79, of Ludlow was called safely home on Thursday June 26, 2014. Born in Canada to the late Pierre and Alphonsine (Dionne) Marquis, she has lived in Ludlow for many years and worked as a waitress for Joy’s Restaurant and John’s Corner both in Ludlow. Dore was predeceased by her first husband Ernest Asselin Jr. in 1963 and leaves their children; Paul Asselin of Hopkinton and Diane Manuel of Ludlow. She was also predeceased by her second husband Benjamin Reeves in 1994, and leaves her step-son Darren Reeves of Springfield and the late Daniel Reeves; Dore was a loving grandmother to Wes Manuel, Vanessa Manuel, Beau Manuel, Cameron Asselin and Spencer Asselin and a cherished great-grandmother to Makayla, Dylan, Ayden and Tyler. She also leaves her extended family in Canada. Funeral services for Dore will be held Tuesday morning July 1, 2014 from the Ludlow Funeral Home, with visiting hours from 10:00-11:30am followed by her burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
