Obituary for Doris Plasse
Doris (Fontaine) Plasse, 87, of Ludlow, died Thursday, July 8, 2021 in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield. She was the widow of John C. Plasse, who died in 2017. She was predeceased by a son John. She was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on September 3, 1933, daughter of the late Adelard Fontaine and Cecile (Gregoire) Fontaine. She lived in Ludlow most of her life. Doris was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow. She was a Eucharistic minister for the homebound for a time. She was a cake decorator and enjoyed making wedding cakes for many local brides. She leaves a son Normand (Christine) of Belchertown, a daughter Bernice Stadtlander of Ludlow, a son Daniel (Bonnie) of West Warren, and a daughter Debra Joy (Bill) of Hampden; a brother Herve Fontaine of Tennessee, and a sister Jeannette of Florida. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral for Doris will be Friday July 16, 2021. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow for an 11:00am Liturgy of Christian Burial followed by a service at the Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery in Agawam at 1:00pm.
