Obituary for Dorothy Ann "Dottie" (Linnehan) Vadnais
Dorothy Ann “Dottie” (Linnehan) Vadnais, 94, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2022. Daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Scanlon) Linnehan, she lived most of her life in Springfield where she was a graduate of Buckingham St. School and a 1946 graduate of High School of Commerce. Dottie raised her family in the Hungry Hill area of Springfield before moving to New Port Richey, FL., where she resided for many years before returning to Massachusetts to be with family and friends in Ludlow. She will be affectionately remembered for her love of shopping, a good strong cup of black coffee, and an intriguing mafia story; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her loving family. Dottie was the beloved wife of the late Alfred E. Vadnais; a proud and devoted mother to her 8 boys Ernest, Norman, John Paul, Rene, Ronald, Patrick, and the late Laurent and André as well as a loving mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother to their families. Dottie was predeceased by her brother William Linnehan and sister Patricia Linnehan and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Dottie will be on Wednesday, June 1st. Visiting hours are from 10:00-11:15am with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00pm in St. Elizabeth Parish. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dotttie’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children 516 Carew Street Springfield, Ma 01104.
