Obituary for Dorothy "Dolly" (David) Dionne
Dorothy “Dolly” (David) Dionne, 81, of Springfield, was called to Heaven on January 31, 2007.  Born in Springfield, the daughter of Homer and Jennie (Anderson) David, she was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Commerce High School.  Dolly also attended Northeastern University and worked for many years at the telephone company and Forbes and Wallace before retiring from Monarch Life Ins. Co. in 1990.  She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in East Springfield and a member of its Women’s Club.  She was also a member of the Hampden Senior Citizens Club, West Springfield Golden Agers, Senior Club and Senior Center, Agawam Golden Agers and Council on Aging, Springfield Golden Agers, Retired Policemen’s Association of California, Women’s Loyal Order of the Moose, Baystate Senior Class and Senior Ten Pin Bowling League.  Dolly was the beloved wife of the late J. Roger Dionne, who predeceased her in 1993; a loving mother to Steven Dionne and his wife Sandy of Ludlow, Gary Dionne and his wife Pat of Feeding Hills and Lynn Alves and her husband Rick of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother to Nikki, Jason and Rachel Dionne and Bryan Alves and great-grandmother of Karissa and Haily.  Funeral services are on Friday morning at 8:30am from Ludlow Funeral Home 432 East St. Ludlow with Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Page Blvd. East Springfield at 9:30am followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  Visitation is on Thursday evening from 5-8pm and donations may be made in Dolly’s memory to benefit hospice care to Baystate VNA and Hospice PO Box 9058 Springfield, Ma. 01102-9058
