Obituary for Eleanor (Jarosz) Fonner
Eleanor A. (Jarosz) Fonner, 82, of Ludlow, passed away in her sleep at Life Care Center of Wilbraham on February 28, 2023 after a long period of declining health. Eleanor’s love and pride was her family and she enjoyed spending time with them and hearing about their lives. She cherished visits with grandchildren at their home on Haviland Pond and their vacation home in Onset. Eleanor was the loving wife for 54 years to husband Harold Fonner. As she would often say, her life was simply not the same since his passing in 2014. She leaves behind her son Donald Fonner and his wife Kathleen of Holland, MA, daughter Suzanne MacDonald and her husband Kevin of Hopkinton, MA, her favorite grandson William, grandchildren Mark, Trevor, Elizabeth, and Julia, great grandchildren Kinsley and Seamus, and her only sister, Dorothy Wallander of Monson, MA. She was predeceased by her great grandson Liam. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 3rd at 9:30am at Ludlow Funeral Home followed by burial at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam at 11:00am. Visiting hours will precede the funeral from 9:00am-9:30am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Dakin Humane Society, PO Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101.
