Obituary for Elinor A. Paul
Elinor A. (Sullivan) Paul, of 685 Center St., passed away peacefully at home on June 1st. The daughter of Frances (Nadle) and Cornelius Sullivan, she lived in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce at the age of 15, and was a secretary at the Springfield Credit Bureau for over 25 years. She married Gerald (Jerry) Paul in 1946, and they moved to Ludlow in 1948. They were married for 45 years before his death in 1991. Elinor worked for the Ludlow school system for over 20 years, as a lunch monitor, school secretary first at Primary Building and later Veterans Park School, and after retirement as a library volunteer at Ludlow High School. She is predeceased by her brothers James and Francis Sullivan and her sister Mary Quinn. She is survived by her daughters Lenore Paul and Marilyn Paul-Lewis, her grandchildren Rosaleen and Kyle Lewis all of Ludlow, her sister-in-law Marjorie Paul, brother-in-law Roland Paul of Chicopee, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Ludlow followed by burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Springfield. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial gifts may be made to the emergency assistance fund at Catholic Charities Agency, 254 Bridge St., Springfield, MA 01103 to or one’s favorite charity. Â
