Obituary for Elisa de Jesus Costa
Elisa de Jesus Costa, 97, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2010. Born in Soutelo, Portugal, she came to Indian Orchard in 1967 where she was a communicant of the former St. Matthew’s Church. She worked for many years at Chicopee Undergarment and was currently a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Elisa was the beloved wife of the late Alberto Costa, who predeceased her in 1971; a loving mother to Laurindo and Jose Costa, of Ludlow, Almarindo Costa, of Wilbraham, Antonio Costa, of Granby, Gloria Costa, of Ludlow and Maria Nazare Lage and Ana Costa Nazare, both of Indian Orchard; and also leaves 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; a niece Gloria Santos; as well as many extended family members and dear friends here and in Portugal. Funeral services are on Tuesday Sept. 21, 2010 at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Monday evening from 5-8pm. .
