Obituary for Elisa (Dias) Serra
Elisa Serra, 87, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on August 1, 2023. Elisa retired from Sunshine Art Studios where she worked for many years. She enjoyed dining out and spending time with her family and also loved to travel to Portugal and visit all her friends and family. She was born on February 7, 1936 in Lisbon Portugal to the late Antonio and Deolinda Dias, and immigrated to the United States in 1977 where she has resided in Ludlow for 46 years.
Elisa leaves behind her loving husband Raul Serra of 69 years. She leaves behind her nieces Isabel Fava (goddaughter) and husband Alexandre of North Port, Fl., Maria Moran of Ludlow, and Branca of New Hampshire. Her nephews Agostinho Dias and wife Maria of Ludlow, Carlos Porfirio of Indian Orchard, Jose Clemente and wife Linda of Portugal, and Jorge Gomes of Portugal. She leaves behind her great- nieces and nephews Angelina Fragoso and husband Donny, Cristina Pedro (goddaughter)and husband Mark, Nancy (goddaughter) Tenney and husband Chris, Mark Moran (godson) and wife Angel, Daniel Dias and wife Rebecca, Christopher Dias, Lisa Dias, Timothy Porfirio, and Vicente Porfirio, Michael Dougherty, Jonathan Dougherty, Pedro Gomes and wife Ana, Rui Gomes and wife Lena, and Kimberly Clemente. She also leaves behind many great-great nephews and nieces who she adored, especially Gavin and Logan Pedro who she cared for many years.
Sadly she was predeceased by her brother Raul Dias, sisters Margarida Ramos and Maria Pórfiro, also her sister-in-law Aurora Dias and brothers-in-law Augusto Porfirio, Raul Ramos, and great nephews Michael R. Dias and Jose Clemente Jr.
Funeral services for Elisa will be held on Tuesday, August 8th. Visiting hours are from 9:15-10:15 in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
