Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" (Bates) Crinella
Elizabeth “Betty” (Bates) Crinella, 82, of Wilbraham, formerly of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Palmer to the late Walter and Delphine (Celantano) Bator, she lived most of her life in Ludlow where she was a devoted and active communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church serving for over 30 years as a eucharistic minister, lector and former director of lectors. Upon the church’s closing, Betty became an active and faithful communicant of St Cecilia Parish in Wilbraham. Betty worked for many years at River Shore Real Estate and Landmark Realty and her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Louis D. Crinella in 1988 and her significant other David Coppolo in 2012, and brothers Walter and Joseph Bates, and Alfred Martel. Betty leaves behind her daughters Patricia (Griswold) Kaneand husband John and Debra James and husband Donald, both of Palmer; her beloved grandchildren Jason Deyo, Zachary James and wife Stephanie, and Maygen James; her sister Shirley Reynolds; and also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral services for Betty will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025. Visiting hours are from 9:00-10:00am at Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Cecilia Parish followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty’s memory to the Charity of one’s choice.
