Obituary for Ellen (Brown) Wilson
Ellen (Brown) Wilson, 81, of Ludlow was called safely home to be with God on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Born in Pittsfield to the late James S. and Helen (Hayes) Brown she graduated from Lee High School and earned her College Degree at Bay Path College. Ellen moved to Ludlow in 1955 and worked for over 23 years in the Ludlow Public School system serving as Executive Secretary to the Superintendent. She was a faithful communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church, where she served as Eucharistic Minister and St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham, where she belonged to the St. Cecilia’s Catholic Women’s Club and St. Cecilia’s Senior Connection. Sadly Ellen was predeceased by her beloved husband Ralph “Brud” Wilson in 1987; she leaves her 3 loving daughters Ellen Mislak and her husband Michael of Ludlow and their daughters, Lauren and Erin Mislak; Karen Cristina and her husband Wayne of Ellington and their daughters Amanda Cristina and Allison Cristina and fiancé Tim; Patricia Lavigne of Ludlow and her sons Andrew and Daniel Lavigne; Ellen also leaves her cherished cousin Michael Hayes and his wife Sandy of Lee. Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday October 2, 2012 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Cecilia’s Church at 10:00am with interment in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday evening from 4:00-7:00pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen’s memory to: Ministry of Hope Haiti or Ministry of Hope, care of St. Cecilia’s Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham Ma, 01095 or to the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care, 3350 Main Street, Springfield, MA. 01107.
