Obituary for Emma (Lavoie) Forsyth
Emma (Lavoie) Forsyth, 88, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 24, 2011. Born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Charles and Emma (Cormier) Lavoie, she lived most of her life in Ludlow where she was a member of the Ludlow Senior Center and a faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Church within the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth, as well as a member of its St. Anne's Sodality. She also worked for many years at Monsanto before retiring in 1979. Emma was the beloved wife of 60 years to Leon Forsyth; a dear sister to Eugene Lavoie and wife Eleanor, Yvonne Sheppard, the late Father Charles Lavoie A.A., and Marie Gauthier; dear sister in law to Wilfred (Joe) Gauthier and the late Daniel Sheppard; a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews; and also leaves many cherished extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 8:15am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Elizabeth Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral from 7:30-8:15am.
