Obituary for Eric Karl Giebner
Eric Karl Giebner, formerly of Ludlow and a resident of Winter Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Springfield on March 6, 1971, Eric faced the challenge of a congenital heart defect that left him with only three chambers in his heart. At the tender age of five, he bravely underwent experimental open-heart surgery, a pioneering procedure for children at that time.
Eric was a proud graduate of Ludlow High School, class of 1989, and cherished his classmates and colleagues at UMass, where he served with dedication as an administrative medical assistant for many years.
He is survived by his father, Norman Giebner of Winter Springs, FL; his brothers, Norman T. Giebner of Agawam, and Mark Giebner and his wife Stephanie of Casselberry. FL; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews: Jordan Inglesby and her husband Patrick, Hallie Giebner, Colin Giebner, Logan Giebner, Morgan Giebner, Madison Giebner, and Quinn Giebner, Elizabeth Ritcher and Liam Richter; and grand niece Cecilia Inglesby. Eric also leaves behind countless friends he considered family. He was predeceased by his mother, Kathleen Giebner (2024).
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 21st at the Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East Street, Ludlow, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a reception at the Ludlow Country Club, 1 Tony Lema Drive, Ludlow.
