Obituary for Ermina Alphonso
Ermina (Fernandes) Alphonso, 86, of Ludlow was called back into God’s care on Sunday July 16, 2006. Born in Ludlow the daughter of Alfred and Maria Fernandes, she worked for many years as a bank teller for the former Valley Bank. Prior to that she worked at Monsanto Company and the Ludlow Mills. Ermina was a member of the Ludlow Golden Agers and Senior Citizens Club as well as the Gremio Lusitano Women’s Auxiliary, and enjoyed playing bingo. She was predeceased by her husband Louis in 1984 and a daughter Dorothy Vaz in 1987. Ermina leaves a son David and a daughter Kathleen Nagy and her husband Ken all of Ludlow; her grandchildren, Maria Cicchetti, Kathleen Mateus and Anthony Alphonso; and her great grandchildren Finn Mateus and Liliana Cicchetti.  Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 8 AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 9, followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
