Obituary for Ernest "Beeswax" Almeida
Ernest “Beeswax” Almeida, 74, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Tuesday March 14, 2006. Born in Ludlow he was a lifelong resident and a faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran serving his country honorably in the Korean War, a past president of the Unity Athletic Club, former member of the Portuguese American Citizens Club was active in the Ludlow Hockey Association and coached soccer and baseball for the CYO for many years. Beeswax leaves his beloved wife of 51 years Ruth Ann (Hilberg) Almeida of Ludlow; loving sons Barry Almeida and his wife Anna of Springfield and Mark Almeida and his wife Ann of Ludlow; cherished grandchildren Barry Almeida Jr., Giovanna Almeida both of Springfield and Alyssa Almeida and Brianna Almeida of Ludlow, as well as several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services with full military honors will be held Friday March 17, 2006 at 8:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. John the Baptist Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Thursday evening from 4-7pm and in Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ernest’s memory to American Diabetes Association 306 Industrial Park Rd. Middletown, CT. 06457.
