Obituary for Eugene "Gene" Neathawk, Jr.
Eugene “Gene” Neathawk, Jr. 68, of Palmer passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026 at the home of his sister. He was born in North Adams, MA on November 18, 1957 to the late Eugene and Doris (Martin) Neathawk and grew up in Holyoke. Gene proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1975- 1979 and upon his honorable discharge he began his longtime career as an auto mechanic. Gene enjoyed watching football and baseball with his son Jacob and was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan, and his many hobbies included fishing and playing horseshoes and pool.
Gene leaves his daughter Rachel Conde and husband Victor; his son Jacob Neathawk; his grandchildren Adrian Conde and Jacob Neathawk; his siblings Jeannie Harms, Joyce Neathawk, Raymond Neathawk, and William Neathawk, his former wife Laurel Neathawk; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many dear friends. Besides his parents, Gene was predeceased by his sister Suzanne Raymond.
Funeral services for Gene will be held privately by his family and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palmer Veterans Services 4417 Main Street Palmer, MA 01069. Please make checks payable to Town of Palmer Veterans
