Fanny (Patrakis) Chaconas passed away on Wednesday, April 18,2023 at the age of 98 years. Fanny was also known by everyone as Pat. Pat was born in Springfield, MA on January 10, 1925 to Charles Patrakis and Mary (Couzelis) Patrakis. Pat was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Michael. Pat and Mike loved to travel, and she especially enjoyed their trips to Australia and Greece.
Pat lived a long and happy life. She adored her grand-chlldren and great-grand- children. Her family enjoyed her cooking, especially the Greek dishes she prepared. She was known for her ginger snaps and whoopie pies, and her lemon meringue pies, requested by the Ludlow Fire Department. Pat also taught cooking classes at the Ludlow Girls and Boys Club, the "Rec".
Pat leaves to cherish her memory, her sons Gregory (Janet) of Wilbraham and Charles (Kathleen) of Ludlow, her four grand-children Kathryn Czarnec (Jake) of Florida, Kristin Chaconas (Michael Dietz) of Georgia, Michael (Lindsay) of New York and Christina Philbrick (Josh) of Connecticut. She also leaves five great-grand-children. Pat leaves her sisters CIara Somers of Springfield, Angela Porter of Georgia and her brother Michael Patrakis of N. Andover. She also leaves many nieces and nephews including George Hallock of Russell whom she called her "third son".
Fanny was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest, George, Peter, Stanley Patrakis and her sisters Mary Piecuch and Elaine Curtis. Pat was a lifelong member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
All services will be at the convenience of the family and in lieu of flowers, donations in Fanny's name can be made to the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 22 St. George Road, Springfield, MA. 01104
