Obituary for Fernando F. Nogueira
Fernando Nogueira, 77, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2019 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Carvalhal, Turquel, Alcobaca, Portugal, son of the late Antonio and Francelina Nogueira, and was a proud member of the Portuguese Army serving in Angola. Fernando immigrated to the US settling in Ludlow where he was the longtime owner of the former Oak Tree Inn Restaurant, as well as a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and especially spending time with his large family. Fernando was the loving father to Diane Moran and husband Joe, of DE, and the late Kenneth Nogueira, who sadly predeceased him in Dec. 2018; a cherished grandfather to Joey, Alexa, Murphy, and Jaxon; the dear brother of Armando Nogueira and wife Isabel, Abilio Nogueira and wife Isabel, Jose Nogueira and wife Maria, Manuel Nogueira and wife Odette, Gilberto Nogueira and wife Dana, Lisa Ribeiro and husband Manuel, Maria McSwain and husband David, all of Ludlow, and Isaura Munzert and her husband William, of Wilbraham; and also leaves several nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Visiting hours are on Monday, November 25th from 8:45-10:15 in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Fernando’s family has asked that donations be made in his memory to the American Kidney Fund (kidneyfund.org).
