Obituary for Fernando Goncalves
Fernando “Butcher” Goncalves, 41, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Wednesday March 7, 2012. Born in Angola to Maria (Mendes)Dias and the late Manuel Goncalves, he immigrated to Ludlow in 1980 and was a 1988 Graduate of Ludlow High School. He leaves his beloved mother Maria in Montalegre, Portugal; his loving children Joseph Goncalves of South Hadley and Mia Goncalves of Chicopee; caring brothers Carlos Dias of Westfield, Octavio Pena of Portugal and Joao Paulo Oliveira and his wife Melissa of Feeding Hills as well as several cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends throughout the community. Sadly Fred was predeceased by his brother Jose “Zeca” Pena in 1999. Funeral services for Fernando will be held on Monday March 12, 2012 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church with burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday evening from 4:00-7:00pm.
