Obituary for Fernando Moreira
Fernando Moreira, 78, of Ludlow was called safely home to God on Wednesday September 12, 2007. Born in Lisbon, Portugal he has lived in Ludlow for the past 37 years and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Fernando worked for many years at Smith and Wesson before his retirement in 1993. He was a wonderful husband for over 47 years to Francelina (Leitao) Moreira; loving father to Teresa Gordon and her husband Michael of Newport Beach, California; cherished grandfather to Vanessa and Robert and will be missed by his cousins the Leitao, Bernardo, Amaral and Lopes families.  Fernando was a beloved friend. This dear man has gone to join his heavenly father in paradise and he will be sorely missed by his family and his friends who loved him so much. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 8:30AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 10:00AM, followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.  Visiting hours are on Sunday from 5-7 PM, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Fernando’s memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA. 01701 or the Leukemia Society of America 180 Rustcraft Rd.
