Obituary for Fernando Rodrigues
Fernando Rodrigues, 59, of Ludlow passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Born in Lamegal, Portugal he has lived in Ludlow for the past 35 years. Fernando was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a dedicated member of the Gremio Lusitano Club. He enjoyed NASCAR, watching golf and was an avid New England Patriots fan. Fernando worked for many years as a foreman for Palmer Paving and was the proud owner of Pop-N-Kork. He leaves his beloved wife of 35 years Idalina (Coelho) Rodrigues of Ludlow; loving sons Jeffrey Rodrigues and his wife Chelsea of Ludlow, Philip Rodrigues and his wife Kristine of Wilbraham and Jonathon Rodrigues of Ludlow; his caring brothers-in law and sisters-in-law, Aurora Almeida and her husband Joe, Maria Baltazar and her husband Frank, Gus Coelho and his wife Carminda, Andre Coelho and his wife Maria, Ana Couture and Tony Coelho and his wife Ines as well as several cherished nieces and nephews throughout the community. Sadly he was predeceased by his mother Delmira Rodrigues and his brother-in-law Peter Couture. Fernando’s family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Callahan Family and his extended family at Palmer Paving Corporation for the kindness and support they have shown the family through Fernando’s illness. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 6th, 2013 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by interment in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
