Obituary for Fiorvanti “Fay” Chistolini
Fiorvanti F. “Fay” Chistolini, 89, of Indian Orchard, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2018 with his beloved family by his side. Born in Westfield, Ma., he was the son of the late Joseph Chistolini and Louisa (Lombardini) Chistolini, as well as step-father Biagio Casoni, and was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School. Fay went on to serve in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1945-1947 stationed mostly in Germany in the 893rd Aviation Engineers until his honorable discharge in 1948. In 1950, after WWII, he joined the U.S. Navy, and served during the Korean War aboard LST 521 until his honorable discharge in 1952. Fay worked for many years as V.P. at Stuart Sport Specialties, Inc and was the manufacturer of Al’s Goldfish Lures. He also invented many machines that were used in manufacturing at the shop. In his spare time, he enjoyed making items with moving parts; such as carousels, boats, and puppets, as well as listening to old time music, especially Italian; but his greatest joy in life was the time he spent with his wife Joan cruising and traveling all over the world, especially to Europe. Fay was the beloved husband of 66 years to Joan (Stuart) Chistolini; a devoted father to C. Wayne Chistolini and wife Martha Jane, and Debra Lynn Crepea and husband Bruce; a loving grandfather to Michael and Matthew Crepea; a dear brother to the late Joseph Chistolini and late wife Dolores, and Nancy (Casoni) Paul and late husband Ernie; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Fay will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 11:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Monday from 4:00-7:00pm and before the service on Tuesday from 10:15-11:00am. Donations may be made in Fay’s memory to any children’s charity of one’s choice .
