Frances (Sedelow) Germain, 89 of Ludlow, passed peacefully at her home with her children at her side on November 12,2021 after a long and difficult struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. Born in Ludlow on May 20, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Hervee and Mary (Wilke) Sedelow. She grew up in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, attended schools there and was a graduate of Classical High School in Springfield. A resident of Ludlow since 1958, she was a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church and now St. Elizabeth’s Parish Community both in Ludlow.
She was the devoted wife of 50 years to Ernest Germain who died in 2001. Together, they enjoyed their annual summer vacations at Hampton Beach, N.H. with family, as well as trips to Florida, Washington, D.C., South Carolina, and Arizona. Their fondest trip was an Alaskan cruise in 1996. In later years Frances enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach, Nashville, Las Vegas, San Francisco, the Grand Canyon, and a cruise to Bermuda. She also enjoyed bus trips with her retirees’ group, activities with her Red Hat Society local chapter, and the Ludlow Senior Center where she took part in many offerings, especially her weekly Dominoes group.
Frances is survived by her devoted daughters, Kathleen (Harry) Hill of East Longmeadow, Donna Lamoureux of Chicopee, and Laurie (Maurice) Dusel of Ludlow. She leaves eight grandchildren, Lindsey Terva, Kelly O’Brien, Tracy Lamoureux, Kristyn Kelly, Jennifer DeSousa, Lauren Dusel, Kevin Dusel, and Colleen Dusel. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren, Haley, Mason, Ashlee, Maire, Maggie, Eamon, and Cameron.
