Obituary for Gail (Sheppard) Sullivan
Gail A. Sullivan, 68, died peacefully on March 28, 2021. Born and raised in Ludlow, Gail was a 1970 graduate of Cathedral High School and at Western New England College, a pioneer for women in the IT and Accounting fields. Gail took her talents to Peter Pan Bus Lines, and was a devoted employee for many years, earning the title of Vice President during her tenure, before retiring and moving to Austin, TX with her son and daughter-in-law. She was a proud board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, enjoyed music, travel, reading and loved spending time with family. Gail took an RV adventure of a lifetime in 2020, crossing 20 states and visiting 19 National Parks, Forests, and Monuments. Gail was a beloved daughter of the late Yvonne (Lavoie) Sheppard and Daniel Sheppard, of Ludlow, a loving wife of the late Stephen J. Sullivan; a devoted mother to Sean P. Sullivan and wife Kate (Shea) Sullivan, of Austin, TX; a dear sister and friend to Sue Seaver and her late husband Robert; beloved daughter-in-law of Mary Lou (Owens) Sullivan and her late husband Donald H. Sullivan, of Springfield. Gail also leaves several nephews, and their families, including Ian Seaver (Christine) and Eric Seaver (Katlyn), who considered her a second mother. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Austin’s Christopher House program (hospiceaustin.org/get-involved/donate) or The ALS Therapy Development Institute (als.net/donate). Funeral Services for Gail will be held privately by family in Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
