George P. Milne, 94, of Springfield passed away peacefully on June 25, 2023. Born and raised in Springfield, he was the owner of George P. Milne and Son Monument Company for over 60 years before retiring at the age of 86. George served this country honorably in the United States Navy during World WWII and was a proud member of the Melha Shriners and was part of their Arab Patrol and Hadji Mini Scooters. He was also the past Master of the Brigham Lodge Club in Ludlow. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling with his late wife, Dolly, who sadly predeceased him in 2014. He leaves his loving children John Milne of Monson and Susan French of Sturbridge; His adored grandchildren, Mark David French and wife Erin, Andrew Milne, Alyssa Milne and her fiancé, David Flynn, his cherished great grandson Josiah, and a dear sister Joan Tetrault of Lansing, Michigan as well as several loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, especially Carol and Mike Lamondia and also his faithful companion Dusty. Funeral services for George will be held on Friday, June 30 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is from 9:00-10:00am with a Chapel Service beginning at 10:00am at the Funeral Home followed by burial with Military Honors in Island Pond Cemetery.
