Obituary for Gerald L. Quesnel
Gerald L. Quesnel, 67, of East Longmeadow, died peacefully in his home on February 22, 2014 with his loving family by his side after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Woonsocket, RI, a graduate of Springfield Trade School, he lived in Chicopee before moving to East Longmeadow. Affectionately known as "The Colonel”, Gerald was a brilliant man, well-known for his work as a Master Tool Maker, Owner of GQ Machine still in operation in East Longmeadow. He also loved fixing and rebuilding everything, antique cars, and had a passion for fishing. Gerald was the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Peggy” (Whitaker) Quesnel, a loving father to Dawn Quesnel and husband Brett Zimmerman, of Norfolk,MA and the late Todd Quesnel and his widow Jody of Chicopee; a cherished grandfather , "Pops" to Kaylee Zimmerman, Noah Quesnel, Emily and Alexis Parent. GQ leaves his longtime girlfriend, "Mops" Judith Wright of Worcester, his brother Armand Quesnel, of Ludlow, his sister Rena Scanlon, of N.H. and many loving extended family members and many dear friends including but not limited to his oldest friend, Larry Circosta and Bruce Ostrander. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1stat 9am at Ludlow Funeral Home followed by a Mass at St Michael's Church on 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow at 10:30am. Visiting hours are on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 5-8pm.
