Obituary for Gisto A. Marini
Mr. Gisto A. Marini, age 85, passed away peacefully the evening of May 16th at Emerson Health Care Facility, N.J. Born in Ludlow, he was the son of Peter & Maria Marini and lived most of his life in Ludlow MA. 50 of his most memorable years were spent with his lifelong partner, his wife, Elizabeth (Ventura) Marini. He was a U.S. Army veteran and POW of WW II and received a purple heart. Gisto was an avid golfer and member of the Ludlow Country Club and truly enjoyed "puttering" around the house fixing or building projects. He worked as a mason with his brothers Gino, Dino and his father Peter. He owned a bottle gas business and later worked as a foreman for the Mulberry House Apartment Complex. He was a faithful member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church where he offered his services to the Men's Guild and other church organizations. He was also a member of the Lion's Club. He is survived by his 2 loving daughters, Sharon Barton, and her husband Dennis of New Milford N.J. and Maryellen Morris and her husband Michael, of Lewes Delaware. As well as 2 cherished grandchildren Brett, & Brittany Morris. Funeral Services will be Monday Morning at 9:00 a.m. from the Ludlow Funeral Home.  A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by burial in the Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be Sunday afternoon from 2-5:00 p.m. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Stigmatine Fathers 554 Lexington St., Waltham, MA 02452 or St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cedar St. Ludlow, 01056.Â
