Obituary for Glen Gemme
Glen E. Gemme, 58, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2019, with his family by his side. He was born in Springfield, MA on December 31, 1960 to the late Edward and Barbara (Sosville) Gemme, and grew up in East Longmeadow, MA where he attended East Longmeadow High School. He has been living in Ludlow for several years. Glen was a long-time employee at Baystate Health’s Behavioral Health Network working in the substance abuse department. Prior to that he worked for many years at Welker Gulf as a mechanic. Glen’s favorite place to visit was Maine where he enjoyed the beaches, shoreline, and the Cape Elizabeth Lighthouse. Glen will be greatly missed by his two loving daughters, Emily and Madison Gemme and their mother Valerie of East Longmeadow, MA. His love, Jane Shaw of Ludlow, MA, his caring siblings, Debbie Plante and her husband Donald of Pawcatuck, CT, Stephen Gemme of Springfield, MA, Susan May and her husband James of Holiday, FL, and Patricia Gemme-Cavers of East Longmeadow, MA. He also leaves his 11 nephews and nieces along with Jane’s daughters, Julie Shaw and Kristie and her husband Robert Benjamin, and grandchildren, Kaitlin and Carter. Glen’s family would like to thank the staff at Baystate Medical as well as the Palliative and Hospice nurses and staff for their support during this time. Celebration of Life services for Glen will be held on Saturday, December 14th, 2019 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are from 9:00-11:00 AM with a Chapel service beginning at 11:00 AM, burial will be held at the convenience of his family.
