Obituary for Gloria M. (Soares) Carvide
Gloria M. (Soares), 84, of Ludlow, was called to Heaven on December 17, 2008. Born in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal, the daughter of the late Francisco and Palmira Soares, she was a longtime resident of Ludlow where she worked for many years before retiring. She also enjoyed crochet, knitting and poetry. Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Jose Paiva Carvide, who predeceased her in 1975; a loving mother to Mario Carvide and his wife Robin, of Chicopee, and Edith Neto and her husband Jose, of Canada; a cherished grandmother to Paul, Michael, John, Kali and Abby; and also leaves many other loving family members and dear friends here and in Portugal including her longtime friend Maria Ganhao, of Ludlow. A Memorial Liturgy will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Friends and family are asked to gather at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 10am followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
