Grace “Shirley” Amos, 93, of Ludlow, beloved wife of the late Charles T. Amos, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. She was born and raised in Providence, RI and moved to Ludlow in 1951.
Shirley’s life was filled with many accomplishments. She was a hula dancer, square dancer and line dancer. She enjoyed painting, sewing, braiding rugs, playing cards with her “Friday night gab” group, and gardening. She also served as a town precinct voter for many years and on school building committees. Shirley loved her church and participated in many functions and fundraisers.
Shirley’s true love in life was her family. She is survived by her five children: Tom Amos and his wife Maxine of Palmer, Peter Amos of Ludlow, Cheryl Moutinho and her husband Carmin of Ludlow, Kathie Morrison of Holyoke and Debra Amos of Belchertown. She also leaves seven grandchildren: Jill, Christi, Paul, Jay, Cole, Emma and Jeff. A celebration of her life will be held at First Church in Ludlow, 859 Center Street, Ludlow at a later date out of concern for our friends and neighbors regarding the coronavirus scare.
