Obituary for Guenther Hoffmann
Guenther Hermann Hoffmann, 83, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 28, 2017.  Born in Brooklyn, New York he has lived in Ludlow for the past 13 years and was a member of Wilbraham United Church.  Guenther enjoyed trains, stamp collecting, painting and bird watching as well as belonging to the Audubon Society.  He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and worked for many years at the United States Postal Service.  Guenther leaves his beloved wife of 58 years Joan (Frederick) Hoffmann of Ludlow; loving children James Hoffmann and wife Sara, George Hoffmann and his wife Lani, Thomas Hoffmann and his wife Denise and Susan Hurlburt and her husband Carl; his adored grandchildren Jennifer, Shane, Christie, Timothy, Matthew, Joseph and Emilie.  Sadly He was predeceased by his brother Manfred Hoffmann.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 3, 2017 from the Ludlow Funeral Home.  Visiting hours are Tuesday morning from 9:30-11:00am with a Chapel service beginning at 11:00am with Minister Susan Gibson officiating, burial with Military Honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam at 1:00pm.   In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations in Guenther’s name be made to the American Heart or American Lung Associations.
