Obituary for Guilhermina H. (Malaquias) Zina
Guilhermina H. (Malaquias) Zina, 92, of Ludlow, died peacefully on December 3, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Obidos, Portugal, She has lived in Ludlow for over 70 years where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She worked for many years at Alavel Knitting Co. before her retirement and also enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Guilhermina was the beloved wife of the late Jose Zina, who predeceased her in 2002; the loving mother of Shirley Casimiro and husband Avelino, of Ludlow, Joe Zina and Bernard Toale, of Boston, Richard Zina and wife Judy, of Ludlow and Diane Zina, also of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother of Mark Casimiro, Kimberly Brunelle and husband Chris, Richie Zina and wife Andrea, and Zac Zina, great grandmother of Nick, Alex, and Trenton, dear sister to Natalia daSilva, of East Longmeadow and several late brothers and sisters; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 8:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 pm.
