Obituary for Gwendolyn D. (Mitson) Smith
Gwendolyn D. (Mitson) Smith, 92, of Belchertown, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2019. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late George and Lillian (Taylor) Mitson, she was a longtime resident of Belchertown and worked for many years at Janlynn Corp. in Indian Orchard before retiring. Gwendolyn was the beloved mother of David Nickerson, of Springfield, Barbara O’Connell, of Ludlow, and Patricia Beyer and husband Manfred, of Belchertown; a loving grandmother to Carrie and Erica Piwcio, and Robert O’Connell; cherished great-grandmother to Lauren and Josh Piwcio, and Gina O’Connell; and also leaves many loving extended family members and friends. All services for Gwendolyn will be held privately by the family.
