Obituary for Helen M. (Anderson) Fontaine
Helen M. (Anderson) Fontaine, 86, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on September 30, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.  Born in Andover, Ma., daughter of the late Oscar and Jessie (Smith) Anderson, she lived most of her life in Ludlow where she was a faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church.  Helen was a 1941 graduate of Ludlow High School and worked for 21 years at the former Homestead Inn.  She also loved to knit and crochet.  Helen was the beloved wife of the late Frederick “Freddy” Fontaine, who predeceased her in 2004; a loving mother to James Fontaine, of Chicopee, Carol B. Carrington, of Ludlow and Mary E. Cloutier and husband Paul, of Springfield; a dear sister to James and Charles Anderson, both of Springfield; cherished grandmother to Amy and Angela Fontaine, Rebecca Ingles and husband Bryan, Jason Cloutier and wife Jennifer, Sarah Roy and husband Donald, David Carrington and wife Theresa and Daniel Carrington and wife Joelle; and great-grandmother to Gillian, Jack and Kyle Carrington, Daniel, Lorraine and Matthew Cloutier, Coda James Fontaine, Noah Roy, and Heather and Katon Ingles.  Funeral services for Helen will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church followed burial in Island Pond Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 4 - 7pm
