Obituary for Helena J. (Brooks) Dupre
Helena J. (brooks) Dupre, 85, of Granby, died peacefully on September 22, 2014. Born in Montpelier, VT, daughter of the late Myron and Edrie Ruth (Luce) Brooks, she was a longtime Granby resident where she was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. She worked for many years as a chef at Mt. Holyoke College and personal chef at the Catholic Bishop’s residence; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.
Helena was the beloved wife of the late Ronert J. Dupre, who predeceased her on October 8, 2013; a loving mother to Corinne Currie, of Granby, Kathleen Lindenmuth and husband Ronnie, of PA, and the late Mary Dupre; a cherished grandmother to Timothy Currie, of Ludlow, Jason Duga, of FL, Matthew Duga, of Granby, Kaitlin Haslam, of Granby, and Brittany and Jessie Lindenmuth, both of PA; a dear sister to Meriden Brooks, of VT, and the late Patricia Champagne, Geneva LaFountain, Myron Brooks, Jr., and Merton Brooks; a cherished great-grandmother of 10; and also leaves several loving extended family members and dear friends. Ludlow Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with her care.
Helena’s family will be hosting a memorial service to celebrate her life on Friday, September 26th, 2014, at 10:00am in Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Granby.
