Obituary for Herbert Phillip Frappier
Herbert Phillip Frappier, 60, of Palmer, was called to Heaven on April 2, 2011, with his loved ones by his side. Phil lived his life with an exuberance we could all learn from. Though he suffered physically for decades, he was a very happy man. Phil was born in Springfield. He owned Allied Home Improvement, a roofing business which specialized in slate roofs. "The higher they were, the happier he was!" He moved to Ludlow in the early '70's where he raised his family, and then moved to Palmer in 2003. Phil was a past member of the Moose lodge in Chicopee and NRA. He loved The United States Marine Corps, deer hunting, fishing, and racing pigeons, and once he could no longer walk, found joy in watching the birds and feeding the squirrels in his yard. Predeceased by his blessed mother Emma, father Herve, and 4 brothers, Francis, Jesse, Norman, and John, he is survived by Leah MacLeod, whom he shared his life with for almost 20 years, his beloved son Craig, whom he cherished, his daughter Dawn Marie, 4 grandchildren, Matthew and Emma Frappier, Kasey Vincent and Brittany Murphy, 2 sisters Marie and Lenora, 2 brothers, Roger and Claude and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are on Tuesday, April 5, 2011. Visiting hours are from 9:30-10:45am at Ludlow Funeral Home concluding with a chapel service at 11:00am. Burial tentative in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Palmer. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Center for the Intrepid, rehabilitation center for wounded War Veterans in San Antonio, Texas; Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Attn: Contributions, One Intrepid Square West 46th Street & 12th Avenue New York, N.Y. 10036.
