Obituary for Herminia Fonseca
Herminia G. Fonseca, 88, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25th, 2009 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Her two great passions in life were cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Herminia was born in Ludlow, Ma. on March 9, 1921 to the late Jose Gil and Adelina Martins. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jose Fonseca in 1968; also her 3 loving brothers, Antonio, Jack and Jose Gil. She will be missed greatly by her 4 caring children, Helena Balbino and her husband Fernando, Jose Fonseca and his wife Emilia, Tila Balbino and her husband Antonio, and her youngest son Antonio Fonseca and his wife Zita, all of Ludlow. She was adored by her 8 grandchildren, David, Victoria, Fred, Sandra, Daniel, Tony Jr., Kevin, and Heather; 9 loving great-grandchildren Alexandrea, Grant, Trent, Miranda, Marissa, Mateo, Sofia, Carina, Lilly, and a soon to be great-grandson. She also leaves 5 wonderful sisters, Vitoria Silva and her husband Manuel, Maria Venancio, Isaura Silva, Celeste Santos and Justina Costa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning July 29th, at 8:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 9:00am, followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Tuesday evening from 4-8pm.
